Our Church

Welcome to St. Michael's Anglican Church in Canmore.  St. Michael's is a place where you will find a warm welcome no matter where you are from or where you are on your spiritual journey.  We love people and if you are a visitor to Canmore, we hope you will join us; if you have moved here recently, we hope you'll join us; and if you've been here "since forever" we hope you will join us and become part of what's happening here.

Community is at the heart of who we are at St. Michael's.  In the very beginning of creation God said we were not made to be alone, but that we were created to be in community. And so we strive to be a vital community of faith that cares about the individual as well as the whole community of the Bow Valley and beyond.

We believe that we are here for a purpose: to lift up the entire community one person at a time.  At St. Michael's we believe we are all on a spiritual journey and that faith matters to our quality of life. That's why we started our Monday night community dinners called "Food and Friends."  Caring about the community is at the heart of "Time to Be," our open door policy that invites anyone and everyone to find a quiet spot to "just be" in our historic church.

Our community gathers, and invites others in for Fellowship, Worship, Discipleship, Ministry and Sharing the Love of God on Sunday mornings.  If you enjoy the traditional Anglican form of worship from the Book of Common Prayer why not consider our 9am service in our historic church (soon to celebrate 125 years of serving God and the community)?

If you are looking for a more contemporary response in worship, we hope you will enjoy our 10:30am service in St. Michael's Hall.

But we don't just meet on Sundays. We meet throughout the week in Home Groups to get together and go deeper into what it means to be a Christian. There is always a lot going on at St. Michael's.
