Mondays from 5 PM to 7 PM, Food & Friends is operating from St. Michael's Anglican Church Hall (709-7th Street) for TAKE-OUT only.

If you are symptom free, bring your mask and takeout container and come get dinner to take with you. We practice safe distancing and require everyone to wear a mask and sanitize your hands upon entry. If you don't have a take out container, we have some.

There are no deliveries. If you can't get to Food & Friends yourself, please arrange to have someone pick-up your dinner bring it to you.

Below is a snapshot of our Pre-COVID community, and hope to return when the Pandemic is behind us:

Community Food and Friends Dinners offer a safe place for people from all segments of society, to come together every Monday evening, 52 weeks a year, to enjoy the pleasure of a free, attractive, nutritious meal in a beautiful setting, with friends and neighbours. This dinner serves 300 - 400 consumers per week, providing over 53,000 meals since being initiated in 2013.

Our Fellowship Hall can seat over 130 diners at a time. This is a joint initiative of 13 groups; 6 churches, 2 service clubs, 2 youth social justice groups, 1 junior hockey team, 1 school staff, 1 bank. It brings together a diverse group of community-minded volunteers, increasing connectedness. The efforts of these groups have provided over 35,000 volunteer hours.

Truly a community effort, financial support from our community includes, but is not limited to; Bow Valley Food Bank, Save On Foods, 100 Women Who Care, Canmore Rotary Club, Food Box, JK Bakery, Tim Horton's, Canmore Lions Club, Boston Pizza, Wandering Elk, Origins, Windtower Lodge, Canmore Appliances and many more, significantly enhancing the lives of many in our community.

This is not a soup kitchen approach toward feeding hungry people, but a community event that provides good nutrition, enhances food security, and brings about social cohesion.

Food And Friends is strongly aligned with all the goals of the Town of Canmore Strategic Plan. We offer services to people and families from diverse backgrounds, of different ages, interests, values, skills and social and economic means; all are welcome. St. Michael's  Anglican Church has a legacy of service to its community. Located in the town centre, St. Michael's strives to be a safe place for everyone, helping to  integrate newcomers into Canmore.

Please; come join us for dinner!
